Courtyard Linear Residence – AV & KNX Automation Consultancy

Project Overview

KT Consultancy was appointed as the Consultant for Automation & AV Design for this architecturally striking private residence featuring linear courtyard planning, double-height interiors, and seamless indoor–outdoor transitions. The client’s objective was to integrate a dedicated high-performance home theater system along with intelligent lighting, climate automation, structured networking, and integrated security — all while preserving the clean minimal aesthetic of the architecture.

Our role focused on end-to-end design and planning, ensuring that AV performance, KNX automation, data infrastructure, and HVAC integration functioned as one cohesive ecosystem. Special emphasis was placed on concealed installations, structured schematics, future scalability, and centralized control architecture.

Scope Of Work

As the AV Consultant, KT Consultancy delivered complete Home Theater AV System Design including speaker selection based on room acoustics and volume calculations, optimized speaker and subwoofer placement for accurate sound staging, signal flow diagrams, rack layout schematics, structured cabling pathways, and power segregation planning. The system was engineered to provide immersive cinematic performance with controlled acoustics and long-term serviceability.

Lighting automation was designed using Schneider KNX architecture integrated with Control4, enabling scene-based control across living areas, circulation spaces, façade lighting, and landscape zones. The automation framework ensures centralized operation, flexibility, and future expansion capability.

The data network and Wi-Fi backbone was engineered using Ruckus enterprise-grade solutions, ensuring seamless roaming, high-bandwidth streaming support, and dedicated VLAN segmentation for AV, automation, and surveillance systems.

Security integration included Hikvision IP-based video surveillance, along with access control locks integrated discreetly within sliding window frames to maintain architectural integrity.

Multi-zone music distribution in common areas was structured using AirPlay-based streaming architecture, enabling synchronized indoor-outdoor audio experiences. HVAC systems were integrated via Coolmaster VRV interface, providing centralized temperature control, automation-based climate scenes, and remote management capability.

The final outcome is a technically engineered smart residence where AV, KNX automation, security, networking, and HVAC systems operate in harmony — delivering performance, reliability, and intelligent lifestyle control through structured consultancy-led design.
